Your Child Needs Your Belief
Your Child Needs Your Belief More Than They Need Your Analysis
They know about the missed putt.
They remember the wayward drive.
They have already replayed the round
more times than you realize.
They do not need another scorecard review
the moment they walk off the green.
They need your smile.
Your calm.
Your hug.
Your steady voice saying,
“I still believe in you.”
There will be time to learn.
Time to practice.
Time to talk about what went wrong.
But first, let them know
that a difficult round
does not change how you see them.
Let the coach analyze the swing.
Let the scorecard hold the numbers.
Your job is to hold the child.
Because after the clubs are put away
and the final score is forgotten,
they will remember how you made them feel.
Golf parent reminder:
Your child needs your belief
more than they need your analysis.
